Experience

 

Senior Field Service Specialist.

Planning and implementation of DCS control software and / or software with hardware migrations to current product release. Implementation of software / hardware upgrades while plants in production and on process. Duties also include troubleshooting server and network systems as well as DCS hardware maintenance and repair.

 

 DCS Specialist/Project Engineer.

Design, implementation and commissioning of Honeywell DCS control systems. Preparation of project documentation including equipment specification, project scope of work and bid documents, project estimates, planning and scheduling project activities and detailed design of electrical and instrumentation control systems.

 

DCS Specialist/Project Engineer.

Design, implementation and the maintenance of Honeywell DCS control systems for batch process control including all support systems for two manufacturing facilities. Responsibilities included systems layout design and supervision of installations, DCS system network/server administration, software and hardware upgrades and / or control strategy migrations, process control strategy / graphic display creation and implementation, control system tuning / performance improvements and maintenance troubleshooting. Duties also included the maintenance of various plant PLC systems. Responsible for the development of an ongoing operational training program for DCS controlled equipment and to also provide classroom and field instruction for plant operations personnel.

 

Project Engineer.

Preparation of project documentation including equipment specification, project scope of work and bid documents, project estimates as well as detailed design of electrical and instrumentation control systems including instrument loop diagrams, junction box and marshalling panel drawings, location plans, wiring diagrams and motor control schematics.

 
Instrumentation Technician.

Worked under the direction of Citgo Supervision within the plant instrumentation group. Duties included the calibration, maintenance and troubleshooting of electronic and pneumatic instrumentation and the verification of safety shutdown systems within all plant refining units at the Lake Charles, LA refinery.

 

Supervisor.

As a Business Development Manager provided startup assistance for a new division within the company providing electrical testing services. Responsibilities included the assistance of program development as well as the establishment of new industrial accounts in the U.S. gulf coast region.

As a Supervisor of E&I Project Construction provided direct Supervision of 50 plus personnel. Duties included project scheduling, project cost control, management of materials procurement, project estimates up to 500K as well as the direction of project construction activities for multiple simultaneous projects. Projects included new unit construction, new system and product line installations, control system upgrades, power plant upgrades, waste water treatment plants and emissions recovery systems. Also worked with client project management team daily to achieve project goals.

As an Electrician/Startup Technician duties included the interpretation of engineering plans for electrical and instrumentation interconnection, instrumentation calibration and startup/commissioning for new project construction, plant upgrades and system rollovers.

 

Instructor.

Responsibilities included providing classroom instruction of basic electrical theory and practices as relating to the industrial environment.
 

Electrician.

Primary duties included the installation and programming of Allen Bradley PLC’s for bulk storage facilities. Other duties included the interpretation of engineering plans for electrical and instrumentation interconnection, instrumentation calibration and startup/commissioning for industrial new project construction.
